Three decades of service come to an end for 'An American Patriot'
Mississippi State graduate and U.S. Congressman Sonny Montgomery has served with seven presidents. His impeccable political and military careers have spanned 35 years. In January, Sonny will retire from Congress, but Mississippians and his former colleagues in Washington can still look forward to his counsel and leadership.
The big bad wolf brings down the house in summer theater program
At the 14th annual Summer Scholars Writers Camp and On Stage Production Camp held at Mississippi State in July, more than 50 junior high and high school students sang, danced, and acted their way through a musical comedy that they wrote, rehearsed, and produced.

Meridian native and Mississippi State graduate Brad Watson has been a teacher, carpenter, truck tire changer, fire alarm system salesman, and Hollywood garbageman. Now, he's the author of a stunning and highly acclaimed collection of short stories-a new career, perhaps, but not one that came out of nowhere.
