MSU advisers honored
Foreign languages professor Benjamin Blaney, left, is the 2000 Outstanding Academic Adviser at Mississippi State. Also honored at a February program were Seth F. Oppenheimer, center, associate professor of mathematics and statistics, and John Obringer, professor of special education. Oppenheimer and Obringer received certificates of merit for their efforts in guiding students to the completion of their majors. As the top winner, Blaney is MSU's representative in national advising competition. Now in its seventh year, the recognition ceremony is coordinated by the university's Academic Advising Center.
