Troy Avert Street of Huntsville, Ala., recently completed a one-year research and study effort at the University of Alabama in Huntsville as the recipient of a Secretary of the Army Research and Study Fellowship. The fellowship was one of only sev en awarded and the first for the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, where Street is employed as an engineer.

John P. Rankin of Huntsville, Ala., has been selected System Safety Manager of the Year by the System Safety Society, an international organization of some 1,000 system safety engineers. He is the system safety manager at Boeing's Missiles and Spa ce Division. Forrest D. Bogart of Lakeland, Fla., recently co-authored an article, "Linking the U.S. Engineering and Construction Industry to Higher Education," which was published by In Print Publishing of London, England. He is manager of engineering at Jaco b Engineering Group. Sammy Frank Carollo (M.S. '69) of Irving, Texas, was promoted with Thermal/Mechanical Test Laboratories. He is responsible for all electrical and instrumentation design in support of testing, as well as any radiography requirements. Charles Harmond of Columbus is the new general manager of The Commercial Dispatch.

In addition, he is listed in Who's Who in American Law for 1993-94. The American Institute of Floral Designers has named Ralph Null (M.A. '72) of Columbus the 1994 AIFD National Symposium Chairman. He will lead the association at its annual symposium this summer in Atlanta. Richard L. Seay of Port Arthur, Texas, has been appointed a member of the American Petroleum Institute's Subcommittee on Inspections. He was recently promoted to chief engineer-inspection, Engineering Services Department, of Star Enterprise.

Timme (Ph.D.) of Pittsburg, Kan., is a member of the board of directors of the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research, and teaches some of the workshop courses--tropical plants, tropical biology, and tropical bryology. In addition, he is on the advisory board for research at the center. Timme is an associate professor of botany and tropical studies at Pittsburg State University. Jerry David Taylor of Cleveland has passed the professional engineers' exam for electrical engineers. He is an engineer with Mississippi Power and Light. Susan D. Dr. Walter Lewis Willis of Philadelphia has moved back to his hometown and operates his own family practice clinic, Cypress Creek Medical Clinic, along with his wife, Allison. Dr. Floyd Norman Ford recently moved to Columbus and opened an endodontic office after completing endodontic residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Marcus E. Killebrew of Forest was named a national sales representative for McCarty Farms-Forest Division. Dr. John A. Rochat of San Diego, Calif., is in subspecialty training for hematology/oncology at Naval Medical Center San Diego. James Kraska of Woods Hole, Mass., will complete work this year as an Office of Naval Research Fellow at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. In 1994, the U.S. Navy lawyer will serve in Yokosuka, Japan. In addition, his essay, "Gatekeeper of the Gulf? The Iranian Navy and Persian Gulf Security Toward the 21st Century," won the top prize of $1,000 in the U.S. Naval Institute's International Navies Essay Contest for 1993. Robert J. Egley (M.Ed. '89) of Starkville was recently named an assistant principal at Starkville High School. He currently is working on his doctorate in educational leadership at Mississippi State. Dr. Steven M. Porter just completed his first year of general dentistry practice in Columbus after receiving his doctor of dental surgery degree at the University of Tennessee/Memphis in 1992. Jo Kellum of Birmingham, Ala., has joined Southern Living magazine as an assistant garden design editor. William H. Sandy Stewart Sisco of Livingston, Ala., is now a certified athletic trainer for Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital and Demopolis High School, both in Demopolis, Ala. Caroline Buffington Pugh of Tupelo is the new marketing director for the Mall at Barnes Crossing. Methodist Medical Center in Jackson has named Jana Barron Fuss of Brandon its marketing/public relations assistant. Laura Jenkins Powe (M.Ed. '93) of Philadelphia is a teacher for Pearl River Elementary School on the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Anne Barrow Lowery (D.B.A.) of Loxley, Ala., was promoted to associate professor of marketing and chair of the Department of Business Administration, School of Business, University of Mobile. Kevin Tyler Williams of Kansas City, Mo., is now an accounting supervisor for Continental Baking Co. Marvin's Building Materials of Tupelo has promoted David Allan Dicks to store manager. Robert R. Meacham III of Jackson is finishing medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Maria C. Hough recently was promoted to operations manager of Shaw Industries' Chicago Service Center. Sarah Skelton of Jackson has joined St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital as comptroller. Miki Christy Smith and her husband, Cade, of Springdale, Ark., are the parents of a son, Hunter Cade, born March 2.

William "Bill" L. McInnis III (M.B.A. '92) of Clearwater, Fla., recently joined Andersen Consulting's project team at Florida Power Corp. Jeff W. Sudduth (M.B.A. '92) of Oxford was named branch manager for Sunburst Mortgage Corp. Annette Browning Williams of Kansas City, Mo., recently began teaching third grade at Brookside Day School. Robert S. Hamblin of Pittsboro recently joined the staff of Peoples Bank and Trust Co. in Calhoun City. Joey L. Wray of Irving, Texas, was promoted to senior engineer with Microsoft-Dallas.

Troy A. Jones of Corinth has joined the Dana Corp., MFPD, as an audit staff trainee. Mary Ann Combs of Tupelo is an internal auditor with the Bank of Mississippi. David W. Allen of Ocean Springs is assistant director of bands for the three campuses of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Student Loan Marketing Association honored Necole Moore of Jackson with a 1992-93 Sallie Mae First-year Teacher Award. She is a second-grade teacher at Odell Clausell Elementary School. Betty Aultman (Ph.D.) of Brandon is the 1993 recipient of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Personal Achievement Award for Mississippi and was one of five finalists for the national award. She currently works for the state Department of Education as the state supervisor for home economics education. Daryl Dwayne Carruth of Baton Rouge, La., is an architect with the Baton Rouge Plan Service. Marsha Leigh Corey of Cordova, Tenn., recently joined the faculty at Memphis City Schools. She teaches at Vollentine Optional School. Capt. Warren J. "John" McChesney Jr. (M.A.) of Woodbridge, Va., recently was assigned to the U.S. Air Force Special Investigations Academy as an advanced course manager. Conway Computer Consultants, a Jackson-based company, has named Stephanie Prescott an administrative assistant.

Abhijit Pandey is a programmer analyst at Conway Computer Group of Jackson.
