Teaching and Research: Two sides of the same coin

Teaching doesn't exist in a vacuum--or in an ivory tower. Research is as necessary to college-level instruction as getting some grease under the fingernails is to teaching auto mechanics. And the benefits of university research are evident in fields and factories across Mississippi.

In and Out of A&M: Women and the strike of 1912

Tension over a number of issues was building in 1912 between students and administrators at Mississippi A&M. The incident that brought the crisis to a head involved women, the senior class, and the governor. When it was over, coeducation had been abolished and was not reinstated for 18 years.
