

In a Jan. 22 campus ceremony, the Delta Pi Epsilon chapter welcomed 37 members from Mississippi and one from Alabama. Established in 1936 at New York University, DPE is the graduate honor society for professionals in business education and related disciplines.
Charter members from campus include:
Dr. Patti Abraham, associate professor of business education and chapter sponsor; Susan Boleware, instructor of business education; Dr. Connie M. Forde, associate professor of business education; Dr. Carol Lehman, associate professor of management at Mississippi State; Dr. John F. Perry Jr., associate professor of business education and chapter sponsor and national council representative; and Dr. Bruce Stirewalt, head of the Technology and Education Department and alternate national council representative.
Julie A. McElhany, a business technology teacher at Aberdeen High School, is the chapter president.
Membership in the organization is open to business education graduates who have completed at least eight hours of graduate-level courses.
In addition to cooperating with the national organization on various projects, each chapter is responsible for research and development activities in its region.
