Noncredit computer courses offered by Continuing Education

A variety of noncredit courses offered by the Division of Continuing Education will offer participants basic knowledge about a range of computer programs and issues.

Dates, subjects, and times are:

How to Purchase a Computer, Oct. 18, 1-5 p.m., 138-B McCool Hall. The course will introduce participants to basic and popular programs and will teach basic computer parts. Participants will learn how to evaluate and select a personal computer right for them.

Intro to Windows, Oct. 21, 12:30-4:30 p.m., 105 Dorman Hall. The course will provide an introduction to a popular software program that allows computer users to interact with their system by selecting pictures (icons).

SPSS for Windows: the Basics, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, 105 Dorman Hall. The course is designed for college faculty members, graduate students, and business professionals, with enrollment limited to 20 people. Major areas covered include spss-pc syntax, basic statistical concepts, and basic data analysis and interpretation of results.

Aldus PageMaker for Windows, Oct. 28, 12:30-4:30 p.m., 105 Dorman Hall. The course will highlight one of the top-selling desktop publishing software packages.
