Foreign languages profs published

Three foreign languages faculty members and two recent graduates are among those contributing to a book on Mario Vargas Llosa.

The book, Mario Vargas Llosa: Opera Omnia, was edited by Dr. Ana Maria Hernandez de Lopez and published by Editorial Pliegos in Madrid. In addition to editing the volume, Lopez contributed the introduction and an article, "That Peru Killed Palomino Molero is not the Truth Behind the Lies."

Also contributing articles were Kit Brown, "El hablador: Genesis of the Novel, Artistic Creation, and Myth," and Patricia Lestrade, "Pantaleon Pantoja and the Brotherhood of the Ark."

Among other contributors were Olga G. Campbell and Rodolfo C. Schweizer who received their master's degrees in Spanish from Mississippi State. Campbell's article is "Elogio de la madrastra: Allegory of Love or Erotic Novel," and Schweizer's is "Authoritarianism and the Betrayal of Conscience in La cuidad y los perros y Pantaleon y las visitadoras."

A total of 39 authors examined the various works of Llosa in this 439-page volume.
