Grisham honored by library group

Best-selling author and Mississippi State alumnus John Grisham has received the 1993-94 Outstanding Southeastern Author Award in fiction from the Southeastern Library Association.

Grisham's most recent novel, The Chamber, was on the New York Times Best Seller list from May through early October.

Library assistant professor Martha Owens Booth, who announced the award, is a member of the SELA Southeastern Author Awards Committee and is the Mississippi Library Association representative to SELA.

The group's nonfiction award went to Mississippi author Willie Morris of Oxford.
