Workshops slated for international parents

The Office of International Programs and the Council of International Student Organizations will hold a series of workshops for international parents whose children attend local public schools.

Building Cultural Bridges: Understanding the American Public School System will provide an overview of the U.S. schools system.

Workshops and dates are:

Introducing the Starkville Public School System, Nov. 4, 10-11:50 a.m., Aiken Village main office. Local school officials will explain philosophy, methodology, and expectations.
Parent-Teacher Relationship, Nov. 18, 10-11:50 a.m., Aiken Village main office. Public school officials and Parent-Teacher Association representatives will discuss concepts of the PTA.
Mental and Physical Health Issues, Dec. 2, 10-11:50 a.m., Aiken Village main office. Nurses and counselors will discuss mental and physical health matters.
