Department of Art offers spring break European tour

Tours of art museums in two major European cities, visits to national landmarks, and meals at renowned restaurants highlight a travel program offered by Mississippi State next spring.

The March 10-19, 1995, Spring Break Art Tour to Amsterdam and London is sponsored by the Department of Art. It will feature guided museum tours by Dr. Paul Grootkerk, professor of art history.

Cost is based on participation by a minimum of 16 people, with a reservation deposit of $100 due by Oct. 18. Tour price is $1,700 per person, based on double occupancy. It includes round-trip air fare, transportation to and from the airport to hotels, hotel charges, taxes, museum entrance fees, and porterage.

Tour stops include:

The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijik Museum in Amsterdam;
London's British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, National Gallery and Tate Gallery;
Guided motorcoach tours of Amsterdam and London;
Visit to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam;
Visit to Windsor Castle in London;
Two major theater shows in London.

Participants also will dine at Indrapura Indonesian Restaurant in Amsterdam and at the Beefeater in London. Hotel accommodations are at the Tulip Inn Motel in Amsterdam and the White House Hotel in London.

Art history course credits are available to Mississippi State students.
