Foil honored for support of academic programs

A Mississippi State administrator has been recognized for longtime service to academic programs.

Dr. Rodney Foil, vice president for agriculture, forestry and veterinary medicine, recently received an Award of Distinction from the Academic Committee on Organization and Policy of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.

"Dr. Foil has been instrumental in helping the Academic Programs section of NASULGC be recognized equally with the Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension groups," said Dr. John White, chairman of the recognition committee. "He is a real friend of the instructional mission of colleges of agriculture."

Dr. Joe Kunsman of NASULGC said Foil received the annual award in recognition of his outstanding service.

"He is being honored because of his generous support and encouragement throughout the years of academic programs and for his career of service to undergraduate education," Kunsman said.

Foil, a 25-year employee of Mississippi State, was one of three administrators to receive the award Nov. 6 at ceremonies in Chicago.
