

Aimee York, an Arlington, Texas, native and four-year starter on the volleyball team, will represent Mississippi in the upcoming national competition.
The prestigious award honors women student-athletes for academic achievement, athletic excellence, community service, and leadership.
Based on York's selection, Champion has presented $5,000 to the university's women's athletic program.
Designed to support and promote women's athletics, the program recognizes female atudent-athletes at the college, state, and national levels and includes all 16 NCAA women's sports.
A mathematics major with an emphasis in statistics, York compiled an overall GPA of 3.95 and was a three-time member of the SEC Honor Roll. She also was chosen the SEC's Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1993.
Champion Products has sponsored the NCAA Woman of the Year program for the past three years as part of Sara Lee's NCAA Corporate Partnership. To date, Champion has donated more than $900,000 to women's athletics programs at NCAA institutions.
