

Thousands of adolescent girls spent a day in the workplace with a parent, other relative, or mentor during last year's initial observance of the event, which is sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women.
The program encourages girls to broaden their perspectives on career opportunities and, according to National Business Woman magazine, "focuses on girls' ideas, problems, spirit, and dreams during adolescence--a time when many girls suffer loss of self-esteem and confidence to a much greater degree than boys."
