Patty O'Connor-Seger earned honors for two logo designs. One was developed for SuperComputing '94, an international conference to be held in Washington, D.C., next November.
Seger serves as graphic arts chair for the conference. Promotional materials and programs produced by Mississippi State staff for the meeting are being printed in Mississippi.
Seger's logo design for a global warming project sponsored by the Advanced Research Project Agency also won an award. Scientific visualizations for the project are being developed at the ERC. The project is a joint effort of scientists and oceanographers from a consortium of major universities and the visualization team at the ERC.
Seger's logo designs are two of 950 pieces, chosen from 3,500 entries, that will appear in an annual publication featuring contest winners.
Seger also earned American Corporate Identity Awards of Excellence in 1988 and 1986. She has been recognized by the National Artists Society with two Medallion Awards, and has received honors in competitions sponsored by Print magazine and Appleton Paper Co.
She also directs IMAGE WORKS, a new Silicon Graphics/ Silicon Studio National Training Center at the ERC.
Seger holds a bachelor of arts degree from Barat College and a master of fine arts degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
