Formerly a state-chartered agency, the Mississippi State branch can now offer additional services.
"Before we could only offer savings accounts and limited loans, such as signature and automobile loans," explains manager Pat Etheridge. "Now, we have mortgage and real estate loans available, as well as checking accounts."
While some loans, such as mortgages, must be approved through the main Jackson office, Etheridge says all paperwork can be completed in the Lloyd-Ricks office.
Among the services now available through the university credit union are:
Options for low-interest loans include:
Checking accounts (share draft accounts) are available with no minimum balance, no monthly service charge, an unlimited number of checks written each month, and overdraft protection from savings account or line-of-credit loans.
Also available through checking accounts are Visa debit cards, pre-authorized drafts for insurance premiums, utility bills or mortgage payments, and detailed monthly statements.
Other services include life insurance and loan protection insurance.
The Mississippi State branch of the Jackson USDA Federal Credit Union is located in 13 Lloyd-Ricks. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-noon, and on Thursday, 12:30-4 p.m.
