


Dr. RH Gilmer, associate professor of finance and director of graduate studies in the College of Business and Industry, left, and students LaFrance Hamilton of West Point, middle, and Mario Washington of Holly Springs are participating in a special summer intern program at Mississippi State. The two students will work with Gilmer on a research project throughout the summer in conjunction with the Combination of Institutions-Star Search Scholars program. They are among 26 students participating in the program that is funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Women and Minority Participation in Graduate Education to encourage graduate study among minority students. The Mississippi State program is administered by the Graduate School under the direction of Dr. William S. Person. Ike Gibson of West Point, a doctoral student in educational leadership, is the coordinator.
