The Mississippi Community College Fellowship Program is sponsored by Mississippi State's Department of Educational Leadership, with support of the Phil Hardin Foundation of Meridian. Class sessions will be held at Lake Tiak O'Khata conference center near Louisville.
"The program is the first of its kind in Mississippi and is designed to begin the process of leadership development for those who will be the college leaders of the future," said department head Ned Lovell.
Participants must be nominated by their president or the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges in Jackson. Each may receive three hours of graduate credit.
Major topics on the program will include the challenge of diversity, conflict resolution, planning for change, collaboration, and team building. "We also have invited key Mississippi college officials, legislators, and other state leaders to discuss major issues and trends," Lovell said.
