Taylor named associate business dean

Taylor

Dr. Ronald D. Taylor is the new associate dean for internal affairs in the College of Business and Industry.

A marketing professor, Taylor succeeds Dr. Danny Arnold, who recently left to become business dean at New Mexico State University. Taylor served as interim associate dean when Arnold was on an academic sabbatical in 1993.

A Springfield, Mo., native, Taylor received his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Southwest Missouri State University and his doctorate at the University of North Texas. He joined the faculty in 1984.

Taylor was named the business college's outstanding graduate faculty member in 1988. He also has been selected to Who's Who in Advertising, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in Emerging Leaders in America. His major research areas include employee training programs, comparison advertising, and customer relations, among others.

Organized in 1915, the university's College of Business and Industry is the oldest of its kind in the state and one of the oldest in the Southeast. Among the university's larger academic units, the college—including its School of Accountancy—enrolled more than 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students during the 1993-94 school year.

Formal approval of Taylor's appointment is expected by the Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning at its regular August meeting.
