MilamThe Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants has recognized a professor in the College of Business and Industry as Educator of the Year.
Dr. Edward E. Milam, professor of accountancy, received the award in June at the group's annual convention in Destin, Fla.
In 1993, Milam was named Outstanding Graduate Teacher of the Year by the College of Business and Industry at Mississippi State, and in 1989, he was the University of Mississippi School of Accountancy's Teacher of the Year.
Milam has been active in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past president of the Federation of Schools of Accountancy and formerly worked for the State Tax Commission.
He received a bachelor's degree at Delta State University and master's and doctoral degrees at Louisiana State University.
