Storytelling and theater camps offered by Mississippi State

Two summer camps sponsored by the Division of Continuing Education offer rising fourth through sixth graders the opportunity to develop storytelling and theater skills.

A storytelling camp July 10-14 will teach children to communicate by listening to and telling stories. From 8 a.m. to noon each day in Memorial Hall, they will learn how to pick a story, learn a story, remember a story, and tell a story. They also will learn more about ghost stories.

A children's theater workshop July 24-30 will help students develop basic theater skills of speech, movement and attention to stage direction. Sessions are 8 a.m. to noon in the Colvard Union Small Auditorium.

The young actors will conclude the session by presenting an original production July 29.

For more information, call Teresa Gammill at 325-8877; to register, call Deanna Carrubba at 325-8876.
