CISS director picked to serve as Atlantic Council adviser

A Mississippi State history professor has been recognized by the Atlantic Council for his work in global security studies.

Dr. Janos Radvanyi, director of the Center for International Security and Strategic Studies, recently accepted an invitation to become a National Councillor to the Atlantic Council of the United States.

The purpose of the Councillors program is to involve recognized figures in the fields of international affairs in the various programs that the Atlantic Council offers, such as security briefings, task forces, and the creation of policy papers concerning areas of worldwide importance.

"I have great admiration for the Atlantic Council, and feel honored to have been extended the privilege of serving as a member of the National Councillors Program," Radvanyi said.

National Councillors work closely with government officials, members of Congress, academicians, corporate leaders, and the media to develop concensus-oriented recommendations on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy.

For more than three decades, the Atlantic Council has played an influential role in defining international priorities of the United States.
