Continuing Ed offers telecourses beginning this week

Telecourses on emerging technology and modern Mexico will be offered during the fall semester at Mississippi State University.

Provided through the Division of Continuing Education, the four-month courses begin this week and are available via Mississippi Fibernet 2000 at locations in Clarksdale, Corinth, Columbus, Philadelphia, Starkville, and West Point. The courses are available to other locations around the state by Internet electronic mail and by videotape.

Emerging Technology/TKT 8703 will be offered from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 25-Dec. 15 via Fibernet and by videotape. An examination of how modern technologies shape instructional delivery, the course will be taught by Dr. Larry Anderson, assistant professor of technology and education and founder of the National Center for Technology Planning.

Modern Mexico/HI 4353, whose dates are Aug. 22-Dec. 12, will only be provided by Internet. The course is taught by Dr. Donald J. Mabry, history professor and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
