Ag Communications wins top broadcasting awards

Two Mississippi State Department of Agricultural Communications broadcasters received top awards for their work at the recent Mississippi Association of Broadcasters meeting.

David Lack, a video producer with Agricultural Communications, won a Gold Award for "Partners in Education" in the faculty division's public service announcement category. The campaign explained how access to resources through the Cooperative Extension Service helps to improve state county agents' services.

Artis Ford, broadcast producer and co-anchor of Farmweek, won a Gold Award for the Farmweek news program in the faculty division's informational program category. The award recognizes the best overall program for the past year.

"I am very proud of these awards because they recognize the high quality of work that our staff produces," said Cliff Bice, Agricultural Communications department head. "The awards are especially meaningful since they come from the commercial broadcast media we serve."
