Education doctoral students group kicks off new year

The College of Education Doctoral Students Association recently began its new year with a summer social attended by more than 80 faculty members and students.

According to newly elected president Ann Bailey, the purposes of the DSA are to promote professional growth and enhance communication among students, faculty, and administrators in the College of Education.

Benefits of membership include stipends for research presentations at conferences, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and planned social activities.

One goal for this year is a mentoring program in which doctoral students network with master's students to share resources and provide support, emphasizing the use of e-mail in the communication process.

For more information about the organization, call Ann Bailey at 325-3438.
