On July 26, Beth Waltrip celebrated her first year as Colvard Union program director. She joined the Mississippi State family after completing a master's in higher education administration at Florida State. As program director, she advises the student-run Campus Activities Board in organizing a wide range of extracurricular programs. Waltrip also holds an undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of West Florida in her hometown of Pensacola. Between degrees, she worked for three years with the guest relations office at Walt Disney World. Waltrip says the best thing about her first year on the job has been the daily interaction with CAB members and other students. The only frustration she admits to is "dealing with persons who think involvement in extracurricular activities is a waste of time, rather than a necessary addition to the students' education."
