Mississippi State to hold fall 'Discovery' Oct. 1

The fall semester's informal orientation program for prospective students will precede the 6 p.m. Scott Field football game between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Arkansas State University Indians. "Discovery" will take place from 1-4 p.m.

As always, the event's focus is the colorful Academic Fair on the Drill Field at the center of campus. The fair will include more than 50 college, school and departmental information displays and exhibitions.

A limited number of $5 football game tickets will be sold to registrants as long as the supply lasts.

In addition to the academic displays, information will be provided about admissions, on-campus housing, financial aid, cooperative education programs, and student organizations.

Free ice cream, popcorn and other items will be provided, along with musical entertainment by Mississippi State students and the Alumni Jazz Band.
