Former gridiron star donates artwork

A silent auction will be held Homecoming weekend for the artwork of former Mississippi State football player Cedric Corse.

Corse, a linebacker for the Bulldogs from 1984-87 and now a coach at East Coweta High School in Newnan, Ga., recently donated the artwork to the university. Mississippi State's fifth leading all-time tackler also teaches art and coaches the boys basketball team at Central Middle School in Newnan.

Alumni and supporters may bid on the artwork during the silent auction, The Gridiron Meets the Palette, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the Butler-Williams Alumni Center. Proceeds will support the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

Corse, his artwork, and his career were featured in the fall 1993 issue of Mississippi State Alumnus.
