Approximately 120 volunteers will contact individuals across campus in an effort to raise $70,000. The funds are used by United Way of North-Central Mississippi to support 21 agencies.
Ike Ikenberry, the 1995 Mississippi State campaign chair, urges all employees to consider making a contribution to the United Way.
This year's slogan is "Open Your Heart," and Ikenberry reminds everyone that when they open their hearts, they become part of a bigger project that will touch the hearts and lives of many people. These projects include food for the elderly, services to the disabled, a safe shelter for victims of abuse, programs for youth, or humane care for animals.
He asks that everyone please give to the United Way and help show the community that Mississippi State employees have an open heart.
