Black enrollment hits record 14.6 %

That figure includes a record 1,958 African-American students, accounting for 14.6 percent of the total. Black enrollment is up by 6 percent from last year.

Overall, enrollment is down by 280 students, or about 2 percent. Mississippi residents make up 78 percent of the student body. Just under 60 percent of this fall's students are male. Graduate School enrollment is 2,203, or about 16 percent of the headcount total.
