Beth Waltrip, assistant union director, recently was presented the New Professional Award by the National Association for Campus Activities at its Southeast Regional Conference.
Waltrip was recognized for outstanding service and innovation in the field of campus activities and active involvement in NACA. In addition to her work with the Colvard Union, she advises the Campus Activities Board and Music Makers.
"This was the first time the award was ever presented," said Waltrip. "It was designed to recognize those in the field for less than four years who demonstrate a commitment to students and the organization."
Waltrip, a native of Pensacola, received her bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of West Florida and her master's in higher education administration from Florida State University. She has been on the Mississippi State staff for two years.
