A rededication of a campus landmark is scheduled for Nov. 25.
State Agriculture Commissioner Jim Buck Ross recently presented the university with a bell to replace the original chapel bell which hung on a stand between the Chapel of Memories and the Mini Mall.
The 1880 chapel bell was mounted by the Class of 1939 as a senior memorial. It hung in the grassy area known as Bell Island until it was destroyed by a falling tree in the early 1960s.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will be held in the Chapel of Memories. Anyone wishing to attend the rededication should call the Alumni Association at 325-8400 by Nov. 20.
