English head to spend year teaching in Japan

Dr. Henry J. Donaghy, head of the English Department, will travel to Japan April 29 to spend a year teaching at Tokyo's Meisei University.

While there, Donaghy will teach five classes in conversational English and a graduate level literature course. In addition, he will assist Japanese faculty in preparing articles for publication in English.

Mississippi State and Meisei have had a faculty exchange agreement for the past 12 years.

Donaghy replaces Dr. Price Caldwell, associate professor of English, who spent the last year teaching at Meisei.

Dr. Matthew Little, associate professor of English, will serve as acting department head in Donaghy's absence.
