Mammogram price reduction offered for May

Throughout May, university employees and their spouses who are members of the State of Mississippi health insurance plan may receive a mammogram at a reduced rate at Oktibbeha County Hospital.

The prices are good May 1-31 and effective only for those who actually have their mammograms done in May.

According to Ann Bell of Human Resources Management, mammograms must be ordered and scheduled by the patient's physician. Patients may not call and schedule a mammogram themselves.

During May, a four-view bilateral mammogram is $55, about a $40 savings. A two-view unilateral mammogram is $34.50. Unilateral mammograms are done only on patients with one breast.

If a patient has to have "special views" (additional X-rays), she will be charged the standard rate of $27 per view.

The special price covers only the hospital charges. Patients will receive an additional bill from the radiologist who interprets the mammogram.

For more information, contact Human Resources Management at 325-3310.
