Awh leads economists

Robert Y. Awh of Finance and Economics is the new president of the Southwestern Economics Association.

Prior to assuming the top position, the veteran economics professor was program chair for the 75-year-old organization representing Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.

A 25-year member of the College of Business and Industry faculty, Awh holds a doctorate from the University of Florida and is a specialist in microeconomics and managerial economics. He is a life member of the American Economics Association and past president of the Mid-South Academy of Economics and Finance.
