

Mississippi State's Office of Agricultural Communications recently brought home top state honors for its 1994 media work.
The office received seven awards in the senior division from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi.
First-place awards included the top spot for a public relations campaign, the crisis response focusing on the 1994 ice storm.
Staff contributing to the newspaper, radio and television efforts included Linda Breazeale, Ned Browning, Artis Ford, Tyson Gair, Bethany Waldrop Keiper, David Lack, Jim Lytle, Anna Minor, and Bob Ratliff.
Keiper also received first-place honors in the news story category and third place in feature writing, while Minor was awarded second place in news writing.
The agriculture research tabloid, "MAFES Research Highlights," scored third place in tabloid publication. Contributing staff included Ratliff, Wanda Thorne, Keith Remy, Beth Carter, and Marco Nicovich.
Thorne, Nancy Boling and Mark Brown also received third-place honors in the admissions and recruitment category.
In the film/slide/video presentation category, Lack scored third-place honors.
New Orleans-area print and television journalists, public relations practitioners and other media specialists judged the entries based on excellence in writing, design and overall quality. There were 217 CPRAM entries from across the state.
The Office of Agricultural Communications supports the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine through production of educational media, publications, radio, television, and newspaper articles.
