Powe
Ralph E. Powe, vice president for research, recently received the 1995 Commander's Award "for outstanding service to the university, the U.S. Army Engineers Waterways Experiment Station and the State of Mississippi from 1992-95."
The Department of the Army recognized Powe's chairmanship of the Mississippi Research Consortium, which is made up of Mississippi State, Jackson State University, University of Mississippi and its medical center, and University of Southern Mississippi.
