A wildlife monograph written by Dr. Richard M. Kaminski, professor, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and his former graduate student, Dr. Brian T. Gray of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was selected for the 1995 Wildlife Publication Award by The Wildlife Society.
Based on Gray's doctoral dissertation, the scientists published a mongraph entitled, "Illegal Waterfowl Hunting in the Mississippi Flyway and Recommendations for Alleviation." The society will publish the research in Wildlife Monograph, its international publication.
This is the second time Kaminski has been so honored. In 1991, The Wildlife Society honored he and his co-editors for their book, "Habitat Management for Migrating and Wintering Waterfowl in North America."
Past honors for Kaminski include: named Wildlife Conservationist of the Year by the Mississippi Wildlife Federation, and Outstanding Teacher in the School of Forest Resources; and received a John Grisham Faculty Excellence Award.
