First-ever Spring Career Day slated

The Career Services Center will kick off spring recruitment activities Jan. 31 with the first-ever Spring '96 Career Day.

The free, information-sharing program is set for 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on the second floor of the Colvard Union. In addition to learning about opportunities for full-time employment and graduate and professional education programs, participants can find out about summer jobs and internships.

The Career Services Center is asking all faculty to pass this information along to students. Lists of organizations currently registered will be available in the center, Suite 316, Colvard Union.

The center also begins its on-campus interviewing program Feb. 12. This spring, faculty and staff are invited to come by Career Services and take a look at VIEWnet, a new component to on-campus interviews. With VIEWnet, a personal computer-based video conferencing system, students and employers are able to see and hear each other live on the computer screens. Even the student's resume can be shared, modified and highlighted by both parties simultaneously.

For more information, call the Career Services Center at 325-3344.
