

The following Computing Center classes are scheduled for the spring semester. All classes will be held in 11 Allen Hall, 3:15-5 p.m.
Feb. 5: Windows 95--This class will show the new look and feel of Windows 95. It's a faster and easier way to get work done. Many programs have already been rewritten to run on Windows 95.
Feb. 6: Quattro Pro 6.0 for Windows--The basic features of Quattro Pro, a spreadsheet program, will be shown. This includes the layout of Quattro Pro, entering text and values, using and linking formulas, and changing the display. Also, a few advanced features will be covered.
Feb. 7: Netscape and connecting to Netscape over your modem--A simulation of Netscape, one of the most popular information retrieval programs, will be shown. This will be followed by detailed instructions for setting up Netscape over your modem, both for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
Feb. 8: How to use the Internet on Nova (a Unix operating system)--There are many Internet programs running on Nova: Usenet, Archie, ftp, gopher, Lynx, Veronica, and hytelnet. These and related Unix commands will be explained.
Feb. 12: How to create a home page in Netscape at MSU with HTML--HTML is the HyperText Markup Language used in Netscape and other web browsers. Included will be basic markup tags, linking, inline image, and more.
Feb. 13: Advanced HTML--HTML has much to offer besides the basics. Find out about these features in this advanced HTML class.
Feb. 14: SPSS for Windows (6.1.2--Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Another popular, easy-to-use statistical package. How to use its point and click features or write your own syntax will be some of the features shown.
Feb. 15: SAS for Windows (6.11)--A popular Windows statistical package. A demonstration of SAS 6.11 Windows, followed by SAS syntax for those new to SAS.
These classes are free and open to students, faculty and staff.
