Two representatives of Coopers and Lybrand accounting firm will be on campus Jan. 30 to hold a tax forum for faculty and staff.
Robert LeBaube and Mark Burger of Washington, D.C., will discuss IRS issues affecting university employees at the 10 a.m.-noon forum in the Colvard Union small auditorium.
The first hour will consist of a formal presentation, followed by an hour of open discussion. The topics include classification of consultants/employees, taxability of employee fringe benefits and discounts, proper treatment of stipends and awards, and compliance issues regarding nonresident aliens.
The university is holding the forum to assist employees in complying with IRS regulations.
