Jenkins presented humanities award

Dr. Robert L. Jenkins, associate professor of history, is this year's recipient of the Humanities Scholar Award.

The annual Mississippi Humanities Council award is presented to a scholar in a traditional humanities field who has done an "outstanding job of bringing his discipline and the concepts and tenets of humanistic thought to public audiences," explained Dr. Barbara Carpenter, MSC executive director.

Among his achievements, Jenkins was cited for his contributions to "Ethnic Heritage in Mississippi," as well as his many speaking engagements for MHC programs statewide.

Jenkins received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from Mississippi State.
