Volunteers needed for regional College Bowl

Mississippi State University is hosting this year's College Bowl Regional Playoffs Feb. 23 and 24 and officials are soliciting volunteers to help with the event.

According to Lincoln Johnson, Colvard Union director, approximately 25-30 colleges and universities from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Puerto Rico, and Mississippi are scheduled to send teams to participate in the competition. The winner will advance to the national finals in April.

Johnson said he is looking for volunteers to serve as moderator (reader), judge, announcer, scorekeeper, and timekeeper.

College Bowl is a question-and-answer game of general knowledge and quick recall. Questions cover every conceivable topic, including history, literature, science, multiculturalism, geography, current events, the arts, social sciences, popular culture, and sports.

If interested in helping, or for descriptions of the positions, please contact Johnson at 325-2513 or llj@ra.msstate.edu.
