

Faculty members who need to be away from campus but worry about missing classes may benefit from the Counseling Center's Substitute Instructor or "Visiting Professor" Program.
The program offers a list of instructors and professors who will teach classes while the regular instructor is away from campus. Topics vary and other topics may be arranged upon request.
To schedule a substitute instructor, please call the Counseling Center at 325-2091. A 10-day advance notice is preferred.
Topics include: academic strategies; adjusting to loss: relationships, death, divorce; assertiveness skills; co-dependency; combating racism on campus; communication skills; Counseling Center services; date rape; dealing with difficult feelings; dealing with parents, friends, roommates; dealing with parental divorce; depression; destructive relationships; eating disorders; gambling addiction; grief; handling money and credit; handling homesickness; increasing self-confidence; long distance relationships; maintaining positive relationships; making decisions; overcoming loneliness; overcoming shyness; power thinking; relaxation training; responsible sex; self-exploration; smoking cessation; stress management; successful marriage; test anxiety; test-taking tips; time management; weight control; and wellness: developing a positive lifestyle.
