

President Donald W. Zacharias is beginning a three-year term as a member of the Commission on Colleges, part of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
SACS is the accrediting body for 780 member colleges and universities around the South. Zacharias is one of 77 delelgates who review and make decisions about the accreditation of institutions.
In addition, he also will serve on the Committee on Criteria and Reports, which evaluates institutional reports.
Colleges and universities are subject to SACS reaccreditation every 10 years. Mississippi State was reaccredited in 1993.
