Document delivery workshop scheduled

The Information Delivery Services unit of Mitchell Memorial Library will offer a document delivery workshop for graduate students beginning Jan. 14.

The one-hour workshop will be repeated at 2 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through February in the first floor auditorium of the library. The service is not available to undergraduate students.

The workshop will introduce students to CARL UnCover, a commercial document supply service, and its associated table of contents service, REVEAL.

Susan Hall, information delivery services librarian, and Greg Robinson, coordinator of user services, will demonstrate how to register to order journal articles and receive electronic mail tables of contents for current issues of journals students wish to monitor.

The workshops are part of a pilot project to explore the use of commercial document suppliers in providing fast access to journal articles not held at MSU libraries for faculty, researchers and graduate students.

Sessions on document supply services have already been held for faculty members, but may be repeated by scheduling a workshop at the library or in the department.

For more information, contact Hall at 325-2170 or shall@library.msstate.edu; or Robinson at 325-7664, grobinson@library.msstate.edu.
