Nearly 7,500 Mississippi students, teachers and parents were on campus last semester for the annual Wood Magic Science Fair, held by the Forest Products Laboratory, Forest and Wildlife Research Center. Through exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on experiments, visitors learned more about how wood plays a role in their lives. Meeting some of the third and fourth graders from around the state were (l-r) Vice President for Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine Rodney Foil, President Donald Zacharias, FPL associate director Darrel Nicholas, and Dr. John Gunter, dean of the Forest and Wildlife Research Center.
