Artist exhibits in New Orleans

Amie Oliver, associate professor of graphic design in the Department of Art, is participating in a New Orleans exhibit through Nov. 1.

"Southern Artefacts" may be seen at the Alternative Space Gallery in New Orleans, prior to traveling to a show at Delta State University.

The exhibit consists of assemblage, painting and book works made during 1997. The works are created on thick chunks of Styrofoam that have been recycled from construction sites, distant journeys and domestic excavation.

A reception for Oliver will be held at the Fielding Wright Art Center in Cleveland Nov. 9, with an accompanying gallery talk and workshop on Nov. 10.

For more information, contact the Department of Art at 325-2970.
