About 175 high school students from around the state were on campus recently as part of "TEACH MISSISSIPPI: Teachers for the 21st Century," a program to recruit the state's top students into the teaching profession. The event was sponsored by several professional organizations, the state Department of Education and the Institutions of Higher Learning. Attending the event were, from left, Bryan Nesbit, College and School Relations; Timothy Bourne, a senior at Hattiesburg High School; Dr. William Graves, dean of the MSU College of Education; DiAnn Lewis, IHL board staff; and Joylyn Mason of New Orleans, a sophomore elementary education major at the university.
