United Way of North Central Mississippi would like to thank all of those who contributed to the funds which aid community agencies in benefiting the needs of others.
One of those agencies is Project Brickfire, a mentoring and tutorial program for low-income families.
The major program funded by United Way contributions is the child development project, which includes three day-care facilities located at Pecan Acres, Long Street and Reed Road.
Also, after-school tutoring takes place at two sites, partially operated through the volunteership of Mississippi State University students and other community service-oriented groups.
Additionally, Project Brickfire has initiated a contract to open a new learning center. And, another program, the Blue Marble Festival, is scheduled for April. The festival is a youth-oriented event aimed at involving and entertaining area children in culturally enriched activities.
Thank you for touching the lives of others.
