College of Business presents Honors Excellence Awards

Faculty in accounting, business law, management and information systems, and marketing are receiving Honors Excellence Awards given by the College of Business and Industry.

The 1997 winners include Noel D. Addy Jr., Kirk P. Arnett, Louis M. Capella, William W. Stammerjohan, and Richard L. Still.

Addy received the Thomas W. Hinckle Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award; Arnett, the Outstanding Faculty Member Award; Capella, the Outstanding Graduate Teacher Award; Stammerjohan, Outstanding Research Award; and Still, Outstanding Service Award.

All are of Starkville but Still, who resides in Louisville.

Addy is an associate professor of accounting; Arnett, professor of management and information systems; Capella, professor of marketing; Stammerjohan, assistant professor of accounting; and Still, assistant professor of business law.

A committee annually selects award winners from among the college's 64-member faculty.

Organized in 1915, the business college is the oldest of its kind in Mississippi and one of the oldest in the South. In 1979, the department of accounting became the School of Accountancy to meet the needs of a growing profession.
